At first, I would like to congratulate you on your nomination as the Vice-President of the United States of America. Considering your Law background, you might be the appropriate person to handle the issue I am presenting here. I must highlight that you are a black and Asian woman making us as proud as we cherish our Football King Pelé, just confirming nature on its broad genetic diversity bearing outstanding talents to color and bless human existence.
Ignoring Nature and Violation of Science
Science reveals the Laws of Nature, while Lawyers just handle the Laws of Man.
‘Henry Darcy proposed Darcy’s Law in 1856 about Hydraulic Conductivity and afterwards in 1907 Edgard Buckingham proposed a change in the equation to describe Unsaturated Hydraulic Flow (Soil Physics, Jury et al., 1991, John Wiley). It has been observed that many lay inventors employing the terminology ‘wick/wicking’ neither understand the functioning of oil lamps nor Hydrogeology, concerning the functioning of Hydraulic Zones. They come up with blatant scientific flaws as wicks only have negative hydraulic flow (unsaturated) under a vertical gradient upward, also a porosity that must be resistant to the high temperatures of flames. The Hydraulic Conductivity measures the amount of fluid (cm3) flowing through a porosity, moving across a sectional area (cm2) over time (s) responding to a hydraulic gradient, pressure (+) or suction (-), expressed as cm3/cm2/s or simply cm/s.’
The science of fluids through porosity Hydrology/Hydrogeology/Soil Physics has no single quotation on a word ‘wick/wicking’, just because fluid dynamic expands far beyond the simple functioning of oil lamps.

I happen to be a Brazilian farm boy dreaming to be a scientist. The American President Bill Clinton released his first speech for reelection at my graduation of PhD in Soil Science at The Penn State University on May 10, 1996. He said that we were honored by receiving the best higher education that the US could provide to their citizens, and many of us would be developing new technologies never imagined before. I was a graduate student from Brazil working for Embrapa (Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research). My government sponsored my PhD in the US during four years where I had two babies, considered American citizens. My country invested on my education expecting that I could contribute to my people molding a promising endeavor down the line.
I created a new science in 2015 called HYDROTECNOLOGY, grounded by US pat. 6,766,817 exploring a huge gap from American persistent BIAS and continuous DISHONESTY shamefully violating science in the patenting system. It is a challenging project more than two decades running thousands of experiments to assure that the claimed conceptions are endorsed by nature functioning. Insights come from a complex biological porosity handling HYDRODYNAMICS in the makeup of life beings.
Hydrology issues are supposed to be examined by expert Hydrologists! Examiners that understand the principles of HYDRAULIC CONDUCTIVITY as well as HYDRAULIC ZONES . . .
The process of pursuing an invention changed with internet because in the same day a patent or an application is published online, examiners, inventors, patent attorneys, executives, faculties, researchers can be reached by typing their emails using a logical email structure so easy to grab. Also, it takes seconds of searching to bump to inventions dealing with a specific technical detail.

MODELING POROSITY IS THE KEYSTONE - TECHNICALLY, I deployed HYDROGEOLOGY to artificial porosity on fluidic devices in the patenting affairs. It allows a modeling of an enhanced porosity bearing a longitudinal anisotropic flow, disclosing new hydrodynamic properties of molecular connectivity to deliver/drain fluid reversibly under demand, expanding and updating basic knowledge of Hydrology. It goes back 70,000 years ago by Stone Age man conceiving the first rudimentary oil lamps. It also affects kinetic energy exchange between longitudinal and rotating forces upgrading non-partitioning mass flow dynamics.
I cannot create something new that people already know about it! An original new science does not come with scientists to handle it. It is impossible to bear due expertise on an absent issue regarding an uncovered technical gap, like the fluid movement on artificial porosity systems
It seems that the American President was a politician pretending at my commencement. Bill Clinton soon afterwards was almost impeached for being caught doing obscenities with Monica Lewinsky in his office at the White House. The President of the Penn State University Graham Spanier, who signed my PhD diploma, for more than a decade was covering up a pedophile Jerry Sandusky at a child scandal abusing young boys at the facilities where I got my scientific education. USPTO is running a sort of ‘REINVENTION CONSPIRACY’ allowing wealthy parties, like Corporations, academics, law firms and US Government Officials prey on small inventors BLATANTLY IGNORING COMMON KNOWLEDGE and enforcing a biased regulation. Intellectual Property in the US should not be handled by lay and dishonest people skirting science so shamefully.

As showed below, many corporations and universities, repeatedly and poorly, reinvented my invention in collusion with US Government about fluid movement on porosity. It seems that principles of HYDROLOGY are absent on patenting affairs more than a century. Indeed, such IP violations provide solid evidence that my proposed TUBARC, standing for tube + arc, is clearly endorsed by MOTHER NATURE to upgrade capillarity conceptions on artificial porosity. It has been also a special opportunity to infer about the integrity of the scientific community on scientific affairs. Nature is the judge of science, NOT THE ECONOMY. Obesity, sedentary lifestyle, predatory mining, and now this corona virus pandemic are critical issues to set new approaches toward NATURE BALANCE complying with science.
It took around 10.000 years for humankind to accept covering up the body wearing clothes. The outcome of this pandemic suggests that it is time to start enforcing dieting, fitness, distancing, and wearing mask. During human evolution, man was not designed genetically to wear clothes, to avoid excessive food, or to work out when machinery can replace most bodywork. This pandemic is catastrophic because around 8 billion people and fast airplanes can induce a global contamination in 48 h spreading natural infectious agents. Nature is not scouring humans, but providing insights for a refresh about human coexistence synchrony, measuring community goodwill, types of governments, economy strength and technological resources. On a simple Exploratory Analysis, it seems that each 1000 people infected by SARS-CoV-2, 900 survive using their own immunity defense needing no medical aide. Fourteen of them perish and the remaining survives by receiving medical assistance. A global widespread contamination would result in around 100 million casualties.
Some important reasoning underlying my outcome for brainstorming:

‘Most people are not aware that SCIENCE deals with the simple functioning of nature. We learn how to respect NATURE early as babies taming gravity on our first steps to walk. We understand soon what happen with our missteps ignoring GRAVITY and falling down hitting the ground receiving a due punishment. Later on, as adults, we sometimes misstep and fall as a reminder of our required continuous loyalty to Mother Nature functioning.’
My PhD thesis was about the Hydrology of the Amazon Basin. I developed a sturdy Non-parametric statistics and GIS techniques addressing wisely dry and wet seasons associated to the vegetation distribution, rainfall anomalies, and water budget. This line of work must continue and improve to tackle the issue of Amazon burning nowadays deeply associated to water cycle dynamics. It is an important and shrewd scientific approach to guide the future of Amazon, where its subtle vulnerability still harbor uncontacted humans culturally separated for more than 10 thousand years having no idea about clothes, salt, credit card, electricity, etc. Nevertheless, the natives can handle fire and have ZERO OBESITY IN A PERFECT BALANCE WITH NATURE FUNCTIONING.
After returning home from my PhD in the US I was harassed in my job and my family was threatened. I was a fair employee hired by a public contest working during 13.5 years. My government invested around a million dollar in my higher education in the US. I was illegally fired even being at the cover of Ciência e Cultura Vol. 51 (Journal of the Brazilian Association for the Advancement of Science), even having bumped to a sort of ‘scientific breakthrough’. Working at home with my wife’s African violets on self-watering I figured out that the nylon cords could move water upward by capillarity realizing a permanent interface between Saturated and Unsaturated Hydraulic Zones, allowing the modeling of artificial porosity controlling fluid supply/drainage by molecular connectivity. I had this crossroad in my life to decide between my fair job or pursuing a ‘scientific breakthrough’. Since I was used to endure rough challenges in my life, I opted for my science. During my master, I ran a full marathon just six months after failing on Cooper Test. During my PhD in the US I ran two half-marathons, I learned to ski downhill, and I went skydiving.
I invited two American Patent Attorneys to share my IP rights in a partnership getting initially three issued patents easily approved as Hydrogeology/Soils Physics had been absent on fluid devices in the patenting affairs. I was deploying a scientific terminology not that common in the patenting system. MY PARTNERS QUIT THE PROJECT SOON SAYING THAT A SMALL PARTY IN THE US HAD NO CHANCE TO FACE HUGE CORPORATIONS, EVEN PURSUING A ‘SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH’. Easily I was contacting inventors, faculties, patent attorneys, executives, patent examiners, simply decoding their emails by a logical email structure. I assumed that SCIENCE was strong enough to stand by itself, so during two decades I tracked down an underlying American reinvention policy severely harming technological development.
Reinvention by the US government pressures inventors to quit or bear steep suing charges only tenable by very wealthy parties. I was told by my American Patenting Attorney partners abandoning my my project declaring that there in the US not even a SCIENTIFIC BREAKTROUGH could succeed on poor hands.

TURNING POINT – When an inventor scientist that got his PhD at the Harvard University confirmed that his invention is protected as an INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY written by his lawyer and issued by USPTO as a patent, bearing a content beyond his comprehension I simply got MESMERIZED. ‘A brilliant mind scientist can invent something new, but the document protecting it is beyond his intellectual boundaries!’. In few words, it seems that the US GOVERNMENT and LAWYERS have a specific language not reachable by inventor scientists. In fact, they are just a bunch of lay people pretending of doing their duties. This is not tenable as the consequences thrive!
Ph.D. - I got the title of Philosophy Doctor, but sincerely I had to school myself about Philosophy of Science, getting deep understanding on Epistemology, Metaphysics, Logic and History of Science. (Gale, G. 1979. Theory of science: An introduction to the history, logic, and philosophy of science. McGraw-Hill, New York, NY). Later I realized that graduate students on doctorate programs were not attending disciples of Philosophy of Science to get intellectual insights about their titles. This scaring outcome of a catastrophic pandemic is deeply rooted on a distorted high education in the US releasing scientists PhD with low understanding about their titles on science functioning. On CAUSE-EFFECT relationship there is an abrupt boundary from correlation to regression!
I cannot be a HERO SCIENTIST since I worked 22 years making no money to raise my family of three kids. My wife is the honored hero providing income to raise our family during this hardship. It seems that there is an ongoing competition between KNOWLEDGE and POWER, as the power flows UPWARD in the chain reaching less and less intelligent people resulting into continuous poor decision-making in Brazil, in the US, and around the world.
While man spoils and ransacks natural resources, MOTHER NATURE replies with SARS-CoV-2 to ground humans at home for a brainstorming about our lifestyles neglecting a COMPLEX NATURE FUNCTIONING.
There is an ongoing BIOLOGICAL WAR in nature molding biodiversity.
Moving further from the tropics toward the poles, biodiversity decreases as lower temperatures restrain proliferation of microorganisms in the wintertime. In this way, sequoia and conifers became dominant plants over large area of lands. While in the Amazon rainforest in the warm temperatures of equator region, protection comes from distancing and intercalation of members of the same species. No single species prevailed there as distancing was a surviving rule. In the last century, many projects in the Amazon failed trying to crop native rubber trees closer because of a proliferation of leaf blight fungi disease. Inferring from such analogy, this pandemic can be just a brawl with nature as the vaccine might be a temporary truce. Understanding such insights would provide critical guidance down the line on human affairs.
Predatory Mining is building up a menace starting in a rainy Brazilian landscape: Modern mining can grind mountains quickly as a huge truck nowadays can haul in a single trip up to 500 metric tons of rock.
‘SOLID ROCKS AFTER GRINDING LOSE ITS MECHANICAL SUPPORT’ easily flowing downhill like the disasters taking place in Brazil at Mariana e Brumadinho. I sent three letters early 2019 suggesting the Brazilian President to set a National Security Bill forbidding permanently the use of reject mining dams. The mining residue must be disposed safely like returning to the mining pits. As a PhD in Soil Science I must say that mining reject does not behave like natural soils that developed high natural permeability by rock weathering taking thousands or millions of years. Ground rock residue can absorb water like a sponge until it burst into tragedies. This issue must be addressed deeply because of a high and continuous demand for metal ores building up a permanent hazard on mined landscapes world widely.

The mining company Vale built a railroad of 530 km to the seashore for exporting iron ore, which is around half of the ground rock. However, it did not spare resources for a 2 km of railroad to return the mining reject safely to the pit. This predatory mining is like apes eating bananas and throwing the pills away letting nature recycle it by itself. Apes have neither understanding on carbon cycle nor on soil genesis.
I also sent two letters late 2019 to the Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, pledging help to force Brazilians and Americans to respect Science. It seems that this coronavirus pandemic is testing leadership by hitting hard many countries ignoring science:

I must highlight that Chinese culture highly controlled by the government that most couples had just one child seems to be efficient on controlling the outbreak of a new coronavirus that started in Wuhan.
If our planet earth is estimated to be 4 billion years old, we can make some simple assumptions. During this time, there is no clear evidence that any alien, or advanced form of life, contacted us affecting our progressive evolution. It seems that nobody from the future or other claimed dimension came around to change our beliefs. Perhaps it is time to change our policy caring for our unique home, making it good for all humans and in balance with Mother Nature. It is very unlikely that humans will be able to get another home, so a simple reasoning suggests us to use our intellectual resources to preserve it while it lasts, perhaps another 4 billions of years. It will be a challenge to keep nuclear bombs, cropping soils, mining rocks, and preserve nature for thousands and millions of years down the line. For our own good honesty is the beacon of hope.
Mrs. Harris, HONESTY is the equation to save the world. Antoine Lavoisier is the Father of Modern Chemistry, as he proposed the ‘equation of equal mass’ in 1778. His reward was death penalty by guillotine at the age of 51 in 1794, when the French Revolution started using geometry vectors, left and right on politics. Alfred Nobel got rich as the Father of Dynamite helping government developing explosives and machinery for more efficient wars decimating millions of humans. He made another mistake in his life by putting price on science as if the sun charged a tax for shining. Alberto Santos Dumont one of the aviation pioneers hanged himself at the age of 58 in 1932 depressed and disappointed that his invention was initially developed by armies during a worldwar as an air transport for throwing lots of bombs and spreading death and destruction from the skies annihilating millions of humans, even deploying nukes at the enemy in 1945. Afterwards, the airplanes became more peaceful and useful. Besides nowadays, it is the carrier of SARS-CoV-2 flying at 500 mph contaminating the world widely. At the age of 60, I am still alive, but my job was taken, my science is being shamefully violated, even my first daughter was abducted.
I found out I had a daughter after 31 years by meeting an ex from my master degree that I was not aware. It took me three years to connect some borderline PD issues, trying to identify and locate my first daughter, I had no idea I had. It was a challenge to find a daughter I had never seen, did not know where she was born, nor where she was living. But, in the disclosure it was revealed the birth date and the two kept forenames. So, I found her in less than two weeks converging to three options, as she inherited my features. So far, I was sued FIVE TIMES and got convictions to pay steep fines on moral grounds trying to identify a person that inherited my own DNA, simply comparing public pictures, employing spatial analysis. I assumed that searching for a missing person, my daughter, would not be a crime or offense in any courtroom, considering that DNA technology can prove parenting so easily. IT SEEMS THAT MIGHT MAKES RIGHT!
THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE ON HUMAN LAWS STEPPING OVER NATURE LAWS!
Humans at any age have no rights to opt about their biological parents!
I am aware that my invention cannot be reinvented, as well as searching a missing daughter cannot be a crime, but it is a good deed common to our society functioning going after missing people.
My daughter will always bear my DNA and my science stands by its principles.
Respect to science must be refreshed, because obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and mobility needs to comply with NATURE FUNCTIONING pursuing a balance.
There is an IMPORTANT ongoing theory on NEUROGENESIS regarding that higher flow of blood at the hypothalamus can induce new neurons. It seems that modern man is becoming obese and grumpy for losing brain capacity.
Man need to learn how to eat, be fit, and stay home protecting itself from the pandemic
I do believe that any form of government with low level of corruption and a balanced distribution of revenue should work. Nature is not democratic, as females could not opt between hunting and protection, or bearing babies and breast-feeding them. The honeybee queen is not elected by votes, but she complies with her role assigned by nature. This pandemic is a chance to test many forms of government functioning regarding life versus economy.
It seems that the media is a business exploiting freedom of expression, as marketing information is much more profitable exploiting chaos and sensationalism, than spreading good deeds. Wars and tragedies usually gives a higher economic return to the press than peace and honored outcomes. It seems that Information flows by profit, rewarding spreading or even its containment.
A report by CNN was stating that just 5% of American Defense budget could have spared all hundreds of thousands of lives taken by this pandemic, as the economy mattered more than saving lives. It seems that Americans understood this critical crossroad!
My personal hardship is not worse than those thousands of Brazilians, Americans, and people around the world that simply lost their lives due to the malfunctioning of leadership, blatantly ignoring science.
I believe that it is your duty to rescue science role on human affairs guiding humans toward a balance with Mother Nature. My science was born in the heart of your country expecting for your compliance and transparency, now or later.
I have no doubt that HONESTY is the equation to assure humankind a balance with Nature. The tragic consequence of this last pandemic in the US provides deep insights about changing US policy toward science respect.
The sooner Americans respect science the better for the country. There is no doubt that USPTO needs a vital revamping allowing honored creativity mold human future.
If the US invaded Iraq on a revenge war for WTC terrorist attack, killing around 3 thousand Americans. What would the US Government do to mend itself wasting around half a million of Americans lives for neglecting science by letting Sars-CoV-2 pounce broadly on naive or arrogant citizens?
